22R Connecting Rod Thrust Clearance
Hello all, I am seeking advice regarding connecting rod thrust clearances.
I pulled my oil pan as part of a clutch/rear main seal job. It was slightly leaking in a few spots and thought this would be a good opportunity to get it sealed up with the transmission out of the way. There was no material in the pan when I drained the oil.
With the pan off, I was able to have a look at the bottom end and rods. They have about 0.010" (0.254mm) - 0.011" (0.279mm) of thrust movement. According to the FSM, 0.0118" (0.30mm) is the maximum. Am I understanding that correctly? Here is a video:
