1Kz Turbo Diesel into 85 pickup

Like the title says, I have a friend who has a 1kz 3.0l turbo diesel engine with manual tranny/4wd. I currently have a 1985 toyota pickup that originally had a 22ret in it but there is nothing in the engine bay. I've been looking around for some information but can't seem to find much, If anyone knows what it takes to do this swap or any info regarding it please feel free to chime in.

I have read, some people say you do, some say you don't, that you have to torch the mounts and move them back. What all is involved in the wiring aspect, as the ecu's are completely different?

I don't know what to say about engine mounts... but that'd be the least of my worries.

Your fuel tank would become useless. Your fuel lines? Probably useless. Diesel is an entirely different animal all together. Don't get me wrong, its a cool idea! I plan to do a 2LT swap someday... but its definetly not a weekend project. And it won't be cheap. And it won't be easy. Mechanical background is a must.

Also I noticed you were from California (me too). Unfortunately, you're gonna have a heck of a time letting the state reffing station "OK" it. Every emissions component MUST be in place. And you can only change your motor to a newer year.

I'm just converting from 22R to 22RE. Pretty easy, but I still have to go through all of California's bulls*** with every 02 sensor and air injection line in place. AND no check engine light.

Alot of people use their gas fuel lines and tank, "as far as the fuel lines go drop the tank remove the fuel pump and put in some synthetic hose then just use the stock steel lines removing the gas fuel filter of course replace it with syn hose as well." I have read a number of threads with people swapping a 1kz , going down to dmv, and walking through the park getting that diesel certification.

Does this engine use the CT-20 Turbo? I found a rebuilt one locally if anyone needs one. It is different than the Gas CT-20's.
