1985 toyo p/u

i got a 1985 toyo.. 22r motor and it leaks anitfreeze oil and it wont stop...thking of rebuilding the motor but im 17 need for speed and the lil motor just aint got enough to it. any way to make it faster or a motor swap that will do some good im 17 member guys i am a cook at sonic making 6.50 a hr so dnt go hard core price wise.... maybe a rv cam or cold air induction maybe even bore it out a lil something.. thanx

Common engine swaps: 3.4L tacoma v-6, 350 v-8, or buick v-6. the 3.4 is the most expensive out of all those, i've heard anywhere from $2000 to 4000-5000, depends on how much you get the motor for.

Personally i'd stick with the 22r, those are amazing little motors, take good care of them and they will run forever.
For starters, i'd do a weber carb swap, cam, and a header. that will get ya movin pretty good for a yota especially if you already got a strong motor.
I would worn against boring out the motor, a few guys i have talked to that combine boring with carb and cam have some cooling issues with stock cooling system.

You can put pep in it, but the motor was never designed for performance... just simplicity and reliability. Figure out whats wrong with it, fix it, and then go buy a $700 Mustang and use that to go fast in. And use the truck to go offroading.
