1985 fuels system problems

I have a 1985 Toyota Pickup with a 22R efi engine that has been sitting for a couple years. it ran before it sat. the truck will start but stops immediately. when i put starter fluid in the efi it runs for a few more seconds. i have checked that fuel is not clogged. it has all new fluids and plugs. it seems like a switch is not letting the engine run or cutting off the fuel supply. what sensors or switches could be causing the engine to cut off.what can be done to fix this

Yes, the Air Flow Meter keeps the fuel pump running after starting:

For a quick check, try the fuel pump test jumper:

I had the same problem with an '88 efi that had been sitting for a while. Everything was hooked up, but the AFM was corroded shut and wouldn't move. So in addition to making sure it is all hooked up, make sure the flap can move with ease.
