1985 4x4 pickup front leaf springs

I’m looking at replacing the front leaf springs on my regular cab 85 pickup. I have done the ZUK mod on the rear and looking for the best replacement for the front springs. The rear sits about 1 and half inches higher in the rear than the front. So I have been thinking about doing OME 2” springs on the front. How much actual lift do you think the 2” springs will give in the front? I’m fine with keeping close as possible to stock height as I can. Thanks.

Beware! I am just finishing with my '85 and it's taken over two months. First set was stock no lift from LCE and they are junk. LCE screwed up by sourcing from a Texas truck supplier who drop shipped me a set out of Mexico. From day one they sat colapsed as bad as my 39 year old OEM's and the frame was on the shackles with maybe 1" bumpstop clearance. It took 3 weeks to resolve that mess with LCE and not so much as an apology. Another 5 weeks after ordering from Alcan. BTW, Alcans are factory spec, flat with about 2-1/2" bumpstop clearance and 1" shackle frame gap. The ride has greatly improved with the frame not riding on the shackle. FYI, I did not want the OEM rubber bushings and ended up with aftermarket urethane greaseable and pins and shackle bolts with zert fittings. Our trucks have zerts on the driveline and steering so no big deal doing the suspension at the same time. Also if you want to raise the front 1" or less do not use AllPro shackles, trust me it's another mess not worth explaining. Sky's Offroad boomerang shackles are the way and have them make to your length spec. I'm 4" hole to hole
and truck is level. Pictured are Sky's 5" which are too much and I re-drilled holes to 4". Still need to cut down the xtra length for looks.

Leaf springs

Thanks for the info! Mine still has the stock springs as well. I really been looking at the OME 2” springs for the front and leave the back the same since I done the zuk mod. I’m just not sure how much the 2” springs will bring the front end up. And I’m hoping it will help with the ride quality as well. The zuk mod helped the ride on the rear tremendously!

I've read the OME are hard and lift 2 or more, the price is good. IMHO, the Zuk mod is OK for rock crawling beaters. BTDT and I just want the best ride for mall crawling my classic.

Springs

Mine is just used as a hunting truck so it seek lots of rocky dirt roads and the roads aren’t smooth. I mean down the big rocks thanks to lack of upkeep! So I’m just trying to smooth out the front end harshness alittle.
