1985 22r timing

Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to time my 1985 pickup with a 22r. I just replaced the vacuum advance unit. When I unplug the hoses and plug them, I set it to 0 BTDC. When I plug the hoses back in I get no advancement at all. Aren’t I supposed to get an advancement to around 5-7 with the hoses plugged in?

If the idle speed is set correctly (750 RPM), no, the timing should be 0°. It will only advance as the engine speed increases,

There's the entry from the FSM.

Edit: I apologize. All that stuff above is with the vacuum lines, both of them, disconnected and plugged. With the vacuum lines on, it should be 12-15° BTDC at idle. MAX of 950 RPM, correct is 750 RPM. At Idle, fully warmed.
My sincerest apologies.

Does that help any?

I have the Rpms set at about 800. The inner line has vacuum and the out does not unless it is given throttle. I have set the timing at zero with both of these hoses plugged. When I plug in the inner line, there is no change. There is also a new vacuum advance just installed that holds its vacuum well.
