Be sure to check the brakes too, both front calipers were frozen up on my 4Runner when I bought it - creating some SERIOUS DRAG, man that thing was SLOW !!! But there was NOTHING WRONG with the engine or trans, just some serious braking power that was on all the time!!
Fixed that, and it was like night and day. Then the head gasket went, and I no sooner got that fixed when the tranny started failing. I'm pretty sure neither were caused specifically by pushing the truck with the frozen calipers...but I'm pretty sure it didn't help any.

Hey Prime,
Yeah, don't throw parts at it,....(#1 Rule on Yotatech.....that I didn't get at first, hahaha). Anyway, I wasn't suggesting you replace the TPS or O2, ...just test them, it's not that difficult at all. The knock sensor on those?>>>YEAH, I've heard it's a bit more of a bear than most sensors on that rig....especially the 're-wiring' of one.
Best wishes at the dealer, and be sure you don't just speak to the guy in the lil booth....speak to the mechanic, too. Ask the representative if he could bring the foreman or whatever in so you could explain all you've tried, theorized upon, etc. This helped me with the guy and he was more willing to just keep it a few days and check things on it when he had time, .....withouttttttt charging me a dime, because he couldn't fully figure it out. But he DID figure out MANY things that it 'WASN'T', ya know? lol.
PS> Cool Pup, Rusty! & X2 on the 'verify the brakes aren't draggin' theory. Heard of that happening alot.

Thanks Chefyota, that was my 12-yr. old baby Emma, Huskie/Shepherd mix, had to put her down in Feb. Got a yellow lab/visla mix now that's only a year old, lots of energy and fun, but likes to steal my tools when I'm working in the shop. He's got lots of learning to do.

Hahahaha... Dang, I had a dog, Yogi, that did the same thing. Then I'd find her standing over it in the back yard, almost as if to say, "Heyyy, there you are...I knew you'd come get me if I took this thingymadoer you seem to interested in!" hahaha.
Sorry to hear you lost yer Emma.... Hope the new friend brings lots of joy for many years!

I'm just going through my basics for a used vehicle. I mean no harm or insult to your mechanical ability and knowledge.
Sometimes its the simple things that get overlooked.
-Are there any belt driven things that could be stuck/seized/almost seized and robbing hp that way?
- Have you cleaned/changed your air filter? That might be causing an bad fuel mixture and your hesitation. Bad mixture will suck BIG power. Along with bad timing will cause incomplete combustion, fouling your O2 sensor.
-Change the oil. This one makes me cringe. Some people literally change the oil, and only the oil. They don't change the filter too. If the filter is clogged, the pump will suck a few extra ponies trying to force oil through a clogged filter.
-I would suggest going out and buying a bottle of fuel system cleaner too. Easy to do and then you know its clean.
-And the easiest thing in vehicle care...GREASE! If you have greasable u-joints, fillem' up. They could be causing a bit of drag. Same with wheel bearings.

Hey, no insult taken, I appreciate all the input I can get.
I changed the oil & filter, first thing I did actually when I got it.
I don't think there are any belt driven things that are robbing power, it has no difficulty starting or turning the motor over
I'm actually thinking that the brakes dragging could be part of the problem. I've noticed that driving down hills it barely picks up any speed at all... There's a pretty decently steep hill by my house that's a mile long, and it only speeds up from 30 to 35 miles per hour at the bottom. Never had an automatic that did that
I need to get some time off so I can actually figure this out, I've barely had time to do anything lately
