Weber carburetor with stock 22R stock air cleaner.

I bought a 1982 2wd long bed with a Weber 32/36 already installed. The stock carb and air cleaner were included. The truck runs great but I wanted to put the stock air cleaner on the Weber. I bought the adapter from Weber and the air cleaner fits the carb like it should but the intake adapter plates made the air cleaner base sit about an inch too high. Any solutions?

Take the stud out of the valve cover, go to your local hardware store with stud in hand. Buy a piece of all thread with the same thread pitch along with two nuts and washers that fit.
Put the all thread in the valve cover, put one nut and washer on at the height which your air cleaner wants to rest on the nut. Tighten the second nut and washer down on top. Voila!

You should also note that your carb is going to run richer than before with this air cleaner so you'll need to adjust your 'lean' screws, and possibly change idle jets.

even the ace hardware by me that seems to have the best fastener selection i can find doesn't have metric all thread.
if you can't find the metric all thread you could try a longer threaded bolt, throw 2 nuts on it, grind the head off and use the nuts to clean up the threads after you half ground off the thread. I have used that method a couple of times over the years
you would have to cut you all thread to length anyway and clean up the threads anyway
