Valve rockers aren't aligning?
Hi,
I have a 82 PU that I have recently rebuilt.
I purchased a rebuilt head without the cam/ rockers.
I purchased a brand new cam, and a set of new aluminum rocker arms (The original set was steel) to go with the cam.
I am noticing that the number four cylinder rocker arm pads are approx. 1MM off, and are not making full contact with the cam lobe. (But are mostly making contact with it, 90% of the surface)
After contacting the distributor of the camshaft, who is informing me he has never had a bad camshaft sent out pretty much ever, I am looking closer at the rocker arm alignment.
Now I am discovering that every single one is a *little* off with respect to how it is contacting the valve stem tip.
The manual says that the rocker arms are all the same- which is what I thought.
I called the distributor of the rocker arms and he is telling me a little misalignment is fine and normal.
To fix this, I would need a new camshaft, new rocker arms and possibly the screws and nuts, and a new headgasket. Plus the time.
Here are the pictures.

Some are a little off, two are 1MM off. Some are spot on on the pad, and not centered on the valve stem tip.
