Transmission questions

Hey guys! Right now I'm am looking at maybe rebuilding the transmission that came in my pick-up. I think it's an l43. Anyway, my question is, what are your suggestions as far as transmissions go? are there any transmissions that would be better? or would rebuilding be the best route to go? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to get all the info I can before I decide, and I haven't really been able to find anything on the web.

Thanks!!!

don't bother to rebuild it. the L series are the weakest. for the best look for a w56 or the v6 manual. search craigslist for them, you can get good deals on there. i got a g58 cause i didn't know any better, don't. it has a different output spline count. but the w56 is one of the most swapped in later tranny.
