I got an ' 82 4x4 22r engine L52 transmission that is leaking fluid out of the shifter hole. Fluid may also be leaking around the breather and back-up light plug thing on top of the transmisson. What could cause this? Could the little breather be stopped up and cause this?It does't leak around the shifter base plate. It is not overfilled. The truck sat idle most of this winter and this started the first time i drove it after sitting for 2 months. Another thing-after sitting so long the gear shift stuck in reverse, and i could not move it. I got out,scratched my head,waited a couple hours,got back in and everything worked fine-gear shift went through all gears just fine.Dont know if this is related to my fluid leaking problem.
