depending on your area or the humidity it's almost normal so see moisture build up on both the dipstick and/or oil cap. A problem would exist if you see that same type of problem when you drain out your oil.

check ur coolant level. is it low or been going low? and is it just when u first wipe or if u check it a couple times is it keep coming back? if so then it sounds like a head gasket is your problem. check under the oil fill cap is it white in there too?

water in oil is not always headgasket. It's actually more common that the timing chain wears a hole in the cover allowing coolant to dump into the oil pan.

cracked head and cracked block also come to mind. Have you even drained the oil to see if there is actually water in it? That would be the first thing I would be doing.

Come to think of it, I have seen fuel in oil do somewhat of the same thing.

well it would help to know if its 22r or 3.slow, if its not 22r then sounds like headgasket since theres no timing chain on the 3.slow. give us specs on your truck like year, motor miles, been rebuilt?, and such

clean the cap up, pull the dipstick in and out a few times and clean that out, keep an eye on it, might be nothing to worry about. Do you know what you are getting for gas mileage? anything abnormal?

umm no not really. it seems to be good on gas but then i used to drive a 3.8L.
the oil did smell a little of gas if that what ur wondering with the mileage.
i cleaned the cap after i changed the oil and the when for a 12k drive, ran really good nothing unusual. its sat for about an hour now so im going to check the oil cap and dipstick again.

Might just be the climate your in... I occasionally have a little just on bottom of the cap . But it's expected because moisture/frost/condensation.

I noticed some in mine the other day after a short drive, but after I drove it for an hour it was all gone and hasn't come back. And I'm over in Manitoba, we don't get any rain right now obviously, but lots of frost/condensation.

If your oil smells like gas, check your fuel pump. If there's oil dripping out of the weep hole, you might need to replace it. My fuel pump was leaking gas into my oil through the diaphram. I knew because there was oil dripping out of the bottom of the pump.

wow good call on that one. I woulda never thought of that. For those others that might see this thread later on in their searches, this only goes for 22r's that have retained their mechanical fuel pump and not 22re's.
