im tearing into it today. opened the hood and got intimidated so i tore out the seats and disconnected the electrical behind the passenger seat and under the driver seat (seat belt censor?) It looks so simple when you write a small list but im pretty intimidated.

dude no need to be intimidated its just an old toyota . I know the feeling though I kinda felt that way when i tore into my engine . Take pictures along the way so you can remember where and how everything goes . you could even get some baggies or cut some milk jugs and label them as you remove parts . I think once you get going you will see that its not as bad as you think . Good luck to you

k well my day got cut short cause my buddy convinced me to go camping but here is where im at
radiator-out
battery-out
interior-out
brake lines disconnected at the frame
coil disconnected
working on the wiring harness but im not exactly sure where it begins and where it ends keep in mind its a california truck so there is a bunch of confusing smog ˟˟˟˟ everywhere. no pictures for lack of a camera but ill try to work something out in the near future.
one more thing i forgot to mention... i was told that the ethenol in the gas these days if left sitting in a carburetor for a couple months can seriously screw it up now my engine has probly sat a month now without a start should i be worried about this. and if so what is the best way to deal with it. its a weber 32/36.

back at it today disconnected a lot of ˟˟˟˟. most of it i understand its function but with the whole smog thing it gets a little fuzzy and part of me is just blindly pulling tubes that need to be disconnected. i think i have almost everything disconnected just need to get some friends now to help me lift the cab... and i need to make space for the cab in my side yard. the working conditions kind of suck. I dont have a garage so im doing all the work in a cramped sideyard alleyway with abundant dog ˟˟˟˟ landmines. I also dont have a camera on hand which means i took no pictures of where things go so it might get interesting. im gonna try and borrow a camera to get some pictures up today or tomorrow.
forgot to mention i took my stereo out of the truck like 3 days ago and put it in my honda... so i go camping the other night and hike back the next afternoon, stereo gone... fml

when you're in photobucket click on the "image code" to copy it into you're clipboard and then paste that into you're yotatech post. Nice tree trimming by the way.

alllrighty at it again i beleive EVERYTHING is disconnected besides the steering column this time i took some pictures that i will soon share with you. i was thinkin about ordering some polyurethane body mounts from marlin crawler but there kinda pricey and it doesnt look like they actually come with hardware... anyone know a better or more complete deal on these? http://www.marlincrawler.com/hardwar...body-mount-kit
im also a tiny bit worried about if i tweaked my frame in the roll i guess ill find out when i try to match up all the mounting bolts

Your frame should be ok. measure from opposite corners in several different locations like front left mount to right rear cab corner mount and so on.
You just need to pull the sticks and not the complete tranny and tcase if I read your earlier post right.
I am posting some pics for you. Hit the quote button on my post and you will see [IMG....IMG] that is the picture in text form.
I would only remove the hoses from the carb to the fenderwell. Also dakotawho just did a 22r swap and he might have some good tips. Even though it is the next gen truck most of his would apply.
Dakotawhos thread >> https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...thread-253076/ I helped him thru some PMs and he seems really confident in it now. He seems like a real great kid that would have some 22r tips.

not sure what this is but it runs to my firewall
fuel lines and emergency brake cable
wiring harness on tranny
erm more wiring harness?
\
clutch
this one is wierd its a egr canister? something to do with smog. that hose that my finger is touching runs from the canister into a hole in the frame and just sits in there free
i was relieved when the wiring harness hung over the fender like you said it would
by the way thanks again terry

Just getting caught up on your thread. It will go together quick as you already know what needs done now. Finding a good cab could be the hardest part.
If you are leaving the condenser in the cab, it isnt to hard to add the AC back again later if you ever change your mind.

i might be screwed tell me what you guys think about this motor mount...
drivers side
passenger side
the engine looks lopsided if you crouch down and look at the valve cover
but the frame doesnt look uneven to the naked eye im not really sure if i just screwed the motor mount up or if the frame is tweaked as well...
