OIl Leak

Went riding in the 1980 Toyota yesterday, woke up this am and there is a little oil leak dripping on the rear tire from the axle. What is causing this and how serious of a problem is it?

Axle seals and if they're leaking, there's a good chance the wheel bearings are shot as well.

Check the breather on top of the axle first...they can get plugged up and force oil out of the seals.
