Need help - sourcing parts for W50?

Ok so I am restoring my 1980 Toyota pickup 2wd. Man it is nice to have a pickup again (my '04 Dodge Dakota sits in storage while I am in college due to my reluctance to take my still nearly brand new truck onto campus). My girlfriend decided on another vehicle so I bought it out from her...

Anyway the speedometer hasn't worked since I got the truck. Yesterday I took the old speedometer cable part of the way out to see if the cable was spinning and it was a no go. Further inspection revealed that the speedometer drive off the transmission is not turning.

The problem I am having is sourcing parts, and even a good diagram of the W50 5 speed transmisssion to see what pieces I might need. It looks like the speedometer drive is housed entirely in the tail housing although I am not sure. I am hoping I can drop the driveshaft, yank out the speedometer drive (my bet is that it either has a plastic drive gear or there is a shear pin in the worm gear mechanism that took a dump).

When I first got the truck it had been run very low on transmissioin oil so it's impossible to say if this is related...

Any help on sourcing parts for the little W50 are appreciated.
