Is my transmission screwed? (video)

L52 transmission

Look at the teeth on my 5th gear, can I even drive that? Can I swap the lower .790 gear from the ax-15 jeep transmission (heard they were similar)?
Is the play on the input shaft normal? What about the fact that the bearing is not tight in the casing? What do you guys see wrong here? Thanks.

never heard of the AX15 being close to an L-52. It is somewhat compatible to an R-151(or R-150, forget which)

I wouldn't drive with that chipped gear.

Good luck

Yes with more research I realise they are not that similar, and I did get a bit mixed up with the ax5, but they do have some things in common like gear ratios (ax5/l52), bell housing-to-body bolt pattern (ax15/w-series and/or other) so maybe just maybe it could be possible? Why could have caused those chipped tooth you think?

By the way, is my chipped gear 5th gear? I assumed it was, but after taking the rear section off there is another gear there, can anybody confirm?

I'm just along for the ride here. I may be replacing the input shaft bearing in my L52 soon too...

I think the gear that I have that is chipped is actually my input shaft, and the gear is part of it.
So I'm trying to tear appart my l45 4 speed to use the input shaft using this thread: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f114...ission-241408/
But having a hard time with the terminology and I am stuck right now, will figure it out tomorrow. What I found out is that my l45 feels MUCH tighter when spinning and half as much up/down movement on the shafts
