To the L50 trans guys.
Have any of you taken apart your L50 transmission?
More specifically, have you had the top cover off..
The PO of this transmission decided that the top cover and the shifter thingy were poorly designed by toyota, and proceeded to break them apart.
So, in my haste i didn't notice and proceeded to take the cover off...
Heres the fun part..
After getting the thing back together, i managed to uhh...
put the shift forks in the wrong parts, so i cant get the tranny to shift anymore.
And, when it did shift, there was a MASSIVE amount of slop in the shifter.
Namely in 3rd and 4th gear, where the shifter would basically fall out of gear with little to no effort.
So
I need help with: The shift forks
and
The shifting slop.
tomorrow i'll have the transmission back into plain view.. so... i'll post pics of the carnage!

Okay well since nobody responded...
I fixed the dhifting issue. I got all the shift forks in correctly.
However... 1st, 3rd, 4th, and reverse.. are all extremely sloppy gears.
They hold in gear, but the amount of play on the shifter feels like neutral.
The shifter bushing, and shifter seat are both in really good condition, too.
I'm stumped. The thing works fine, and when we drove the truck it held in the gears under power. But eh slop is just too much
