Hey everyone,
New guy here but an original owner of an 83 SR5 4x4 in good to very good shape located in Ontario Canada. (Maybe post a pic sometime). Currently its off highway out of that nasty road salts grips. Now down to business...need info on replacing or repairing wiper transmission linkage. I've worked out plan B which is a bunch of fab and machining new cowl bushing/bearing units out of custom cast aluminum bronze castings that a local ma and pa foundry will do for me. I'm also looking into machining new ones from bar stock bronze(the originals aluminum mounting nuts were seized and I had to cut them out and one of the plastic bushings shattered in the link from the motor to the first pivot) However, I'd prefer plan A which is replace it with something after-market or a good used one. Anyone have one or know were to get? And the 20amp motor fuse seems a little much, I worked out the stall current of the motor one high and got 10 to 12 amps depending on battery voltage...thoughts?
Thanks people!

Great to hear you are an original owner. Look in the classifieds as you should be able to find a replacement for your wiper assembly. I would go with a used replacement if it was me. Welcome to Yotatech.
