I have a theory (white smoke)

As to why my engine is smokin up a storm intermittently.

I think it could be a completely ruined valve stem seal.

It smokes on startup without a doubt, but when I restart it when it is hot sometimes it is just a little bit of smoke, and sometimes it tries to black out the sun.

here is a little bit of smoke example:

And here is the eco-nonfriendly version

The smoke goes away after driving for about 2 mins.

But is has used some coolant.......and was on the verge of overheating on last night's drive.
SO it could be a head gasket too.

From what I can see from the video, it is definately water realated, since it looks like condensation and the smoke clears up real fast. If it was valve stem seal, it would be blue smoke but also much thicker, it wouldn't thin out in the air like it seems to do in the video. I 'm thinking head gasket too but to make sure you can do a leak down test and also there are testers you can use with your coolant to see if there are traces of exhaust gas.

I'm fairly sure its the head gasket. Also it sounds as if its missing.

Valve seals wouldn't be blowing white smoke. It would be blue and would typically disipate after it warms up because the valve seals will lube up and expand to hold back oil.

If you're over heating and losing water then I would say that you have a coolant leak issue

did a headgasket over the weekend, easiest one I've ever done on a car. Hardest part was getting the cam gear back onto the camshaft.

Now it runs like a champion, alot smoother.

Although, the old gasket that was leaking was a fel-pro, and I installed another fel-pro. Hope it lasts for a while, I didnt have time to wait on a toyota gasket.
