I was wondering how much a 1983, sr5 long bed 4x4 with 143k miles is worth? It has the white and blue trim paint scheme. The body seems straight with no noticeable dents, but there is noticeable rust on the roof and a little in the bed. The interior is dirty with what looks like fine dirt or/and dust that has accumulated over the years. The seats have no rips, the bottom of the door panels are in bad shape, and trim has faded. It has a 22r with a 5speed manual. It looks to be stock with bumper guard and running board. I don't know the condition of the frame or anything else that can be inspected from the bottom of the truck. There are no service records. So how much should one pay for this pickup? Thanks.

 

The rust on the roof could be a tough one if repairs are needed....bottom of doors too....not being able to check the frame leaves a big question hanging out there....based on everything as you stated I'd put the value around $1000 if it was on the east coast. If the roof is just surface rust and the frame is good then more.

 

Thanks for answering, The rust is just on the surface and it's the interior door panels that are bad, the plastic. The truck is in the west coast, and yes, your right the frame is a big question mark. He was asking close to $4g, I got it down to close to $3g. I think we might settle at $3g exactly. Of course I still plan to inspect the frame and everything else with a test drive before I give my final offer. We'll see what happens.

 

If the frames good then 3k is fair for a running, driving truck.....post pic if you get it.

 

Sadly, the deal fell through. He changed his mind at the last second and he is going to restore it himself, so that he can sell it for more money. I told him he would never get the money back from all the time he is going to have to put in to this, but he didn't listen. Oh well. my search continues... I'm walking away from this one. I don't want a truck restored by somebody else. They're not going to restore it the way I want it. Thanks, for the your replies, I appreciate it. Thanks....I stumbled upon the craigslist ad for that truck, he,s still got it posted, looks like a decent straight rig and that 2 tone paint configuration of white/blue was only offered in 83....too bad he changed his mind but they are still out there, especially on the west coast. Happy hunting........
