I have a 79 Pickup with a 22r and when i shift out of gear into neutral the truck idles up and stays up the only way i can get it to idle down is to step on the gas so it revs up and then it will drop back down to normal idle. Has anyone had this problem or know what it is or could be causing it? I feel like its killing my gas milage SO PLEASE HELP.... Thanks in advance.

 

Sounds like the choke.
Maybe you should spray some carb cleaner and make sure nothing is sticking?

Mine too, just got an 83 2x monday and it had the carb rebuilt a month ago...hmm, need time to look at it.

 

do you think it could be a vacuum leak?
