Barn Find (in a Garage) 1983 SR5 4X4 long bed
I am on the verge of picking up this truck that has sat in a garage near Seattle since 1991!
Owner passed and his daughter still needs to dig it out of all the storage around it.
I'll be desmogging it the Weber carb way. Biggest question is: What is the fuel tank condition....

82 4x4
This was a Free truck. And it runs. It's in need of some TLC. It spent 2 years parked in a field and had a nest of black widows in the cab. And Rats are some of the emissions wiring. I have a wiring diagram and factory shop manual to help. But I need to hammer the roof smooth or find a replacement roof section to weld in. It had something heavy dropped on the rear of the roof at some point. But it is drivable and runs. Should be a fun project. I just wish our California state laws would let me disconnect all the smog crap.

Fuel tank restored by Precision Fuel Solutions in Newcastle, WA Interior tumble cleaned and 2 part epoxy liner, new paint outside.
Pulled plugs and took pictures of each cylinder. Added Marvel oil to each and turned over a few times before starting. They look awesome!
141k original miles. Every gauge, light and fixture works.
Door panel after a little cleanup with simple green.

Thanks. You cant beat the price. I called all over for a roof section. Gave up. Hammer and dolly work now. Plus we have a new carb coming. I still have to tear down the EGR and clean it up. The air injection pipe was loose under the heat riser and that exhaust leak fed through the Heat Riser into the carb. Kinda screwed the carb up. I'm surprised it did not catch fire. And we are replacing almost all vacum hoses as they are original from 82. Surprised they lasted this long.

Great looking blue truck! You can still see the cross hatch on the cylinders!
Nice score on that tan truck too!

Best truck ever.
Here is mine wearing its period correct six-pac camper. The three of us crammed in that thing and drove the entire west coast from LA to Seattle and back! It's also been to Alaska (twice), Florida keys, Rocky Mountains and quite a few trips to the Sierra Nevada's. I've had this truck since college and it's now approaching 560,000 miles. A swiss watch has got nothing on this vehicle.
I did the engine & trans at 500k (it was still running, but tired), so it's now rocking a newer block, hot cam, headers, EFI, and a Marlin-Crawler built 5-speed.
