help with identifiying a hose

I am doing a head gasket on my 82' 22r

There is a plate that screws into the bottom of the intake manifold. and on this plate there is a port I cant figure out what hose plugs into this port.

i picture would help, but if its like the 22RE..(pulling from memory)...it should be a coolant pipe that bolts on under the intake then runs from that port, behind the head (where it bolts on) and connects to a hose on the firewall above the header.

should be a coolant hose

22re's have totally different intakes anyways, so you cant really compare those

The pipes you two are talking about is the heater piping, which is metal and bolts to the back of the timing cover. One on each side (water pump then pumps water through these hardlines to the soft hoses near the firewall etc etc)

ok granted it's a water port where does the hose go on the other end? I asked one of my buddies and he thinks it goes to a port that comes off of the timing cover I am thinking why is there water going into my intake

Thats the one the rubber hose hooks onto which in turn hooks onto the pipe running to the back of the timing chain cover.
