great info on hi-lux history

Yeah, I've seen that...many times. But it always annoys me that they don't have the SR-5 thing correct.
It was orignally hyphenated(SR-5) and stood for Sport Racing stripes 5-speed. I've proven this beyond any shadow of a doubt.
What does SR5 stand for?
Maybe I should try and fix that? Since it's such a popular misconception. But what do I care? I like knowing things that most other people don't. So why enjoy the fun while it lasts?
In North America the popular option package, the SR5 (Sport Rally 5-Speed), was colloquially used as a model name for the truck, even though the option package was also used on other Toyota models like the Corolla.

I also found it odd that the article tells me that the chinook was introduced in 1977, mine is a 76. So it isn't 100% accurate, but definately worth a read just the same.
