driveshafts

i have a 81 build that currently being done, i used a 89 trans and transfer which i believe is longer, if i get a driveshaft made at stock suspension, how much suspension lift is possible bfore i would have to take it back to get made longer,,, this is a long wheelbase truck

Lift your truck like you want it. Then build the drive shafts to fit properly, not vice versa.

wabbit's method would be the best option but if $$ in tight and can't do both the lift and DS at the same time and it turns out your DS is too short after you lift, this is an option from 4crawler:
