Hello everyone. Ive got a rebuilt 22/20r motor and was wondering if anyone can tell me if the adjustable cam gear from lce is out of adjustment enough can it damage the valves?

 

I don't think it would be possible for the valves to contact the pistons within the limited adjustment permitted by the adjustable gear.

It certainly would be possible for the valves to be damaged if the cam and crank were joined far out of time, or if the chain slipped somehow.

I just completed a rebuild on a 22RE that had sheared the cam to cam gear dowel and all 4 of the intake valves were bent.
