Coolant leak front of engine 22R

My son just bought his first vehicle, it's a 1983 Toyota 2WD pickup.

Pretty basic beast, however it has a coolant leak at the front of the engine, looks like it's leaking from the timing chain cover, higher up on the engine.

I don't have any pics yet, but I'l see if I can get a few.

It dosn't seem to be leaking quickly, but we're adding about half a quart before it's driven, so far.

Has anyone had experience with this, or have any idea's about what it could be?

Thanks

Water pump gasket? Water pump it's self? Check the little drain hole on the bottom of the water pump pully's bearing. Possibly the thermostat's gasket? Maybe the engine side of the upper radiator hose?

Just some possibilities I thought of. I'm sure there's a lot more possibilities. Clean the engine up really well, and see if you can isolate it a little closer.
Good luck!
