My engine starts and runs fine but the cold high idle wont stop. Stays high rev way after its warmed up.Haynes book shows location of high idle screw but I swear my truck doesnt have one. Well its not in the place where the book shows... Choke maybe ? IDK... Help !

 

The high idle screw won't disengage the high idle, it just allows you to adjust the idle speed during high idle. Have tried to spray WD-40 around the linkage to make sure it doesn't stick? Also follow the download link in my signature for the FSM for the 1983 year model. Chapter 3 is the section with the carb in it. Has some good info on checking your carb out.
