Seems like most people are putting them in the stock radio spot(cutting it out) I couldnt stand having it way over there haha, mine was more work and hacking apart a mint 25 year old dash is never very nice but im glad I did, its in there VERY securely too so it wont be bouncing around on logging roads and goooooood luck to anyone that even thinks about stealing it haha, I wont miss my ashtray either.

My dash was already hacked up and missing most parts. I love having my radio where I located it (See Above). The closer to the driver the better.

After modifing the stock dash I decided to make my own. This took a lot of time but the results are worth it. Yes, the radio needs to be on the left side, much better.

That is a great idea moving the radio over to the left. When I'm in 3rd or 5th my shifter knob is in the way of my radio controls.

anyone else have a b*tch of a time with the heater controls? I want to make a custom piece like 8T3's just for something to do but I fear taking the heater control off again!

Heater Controls

Yeah that heater control is a bear, I had to take everything off and use one of those allan key shaped screwdrovers to take the bolts that go in through the back out. Just a thought for those that have an intact dash and don't want to cut it. I got a radio from Retrosound that I think is pretty cool. You can also buy a CD player that they make that can mount under the seat or something like that. I didn't get the CD player because my iPod plugs right into it so I use that. I dig that homemade panel that 8T3 made though, that is pretty sweet.

I have more, I just need to put them together. I'm working on the dash pad right now. What are the rules of the site for selling?

I have 4 dash panels left. 2 with heater and radio and 2 blank. I probably won't be making any more. They're on Ebay right now. http://motors.shop.ebay.com/dingman6...1&_from=&_ipg=

Well figured I should put mine in here. Got a good stock bezel from a early model (79-81) for free, put the heater controls were kinda craked and one part broke off. So first, I retrofitted the newer 82/83 controls in. Then I installed a pyle radio designed to fit in old cars. Of course the radio didn't fit and I had to cut parts of it out anyway, but at least it was small enough to keep the ashtray and the look of the bezel. Ignore the tape, I put it on to protect the new radio while I installed it, its taken off now. I could have done a lot better and there are some spots that ain't too great but overall it turned out good. Truck is getting sold anyway and ain't a daily driver anymore so as long as its got tunes I'm good.

i just got a tuffy center console that holds a cd player and mounted it right up. didn't want to to cut the supports behind the dash.
