carb power valve-how tight?
I'm rebuilding my carb...81 sr5 pickup. Aisan carb. The old power valve was very loose. How do I know where to screw the new one to? Do I just count the rotations and match it? It just feels sloppy. Thanks!

Wow...thought I might have a response by now...the power valve sits in the bottom of the float bowl...thinking of just swapping in a manual choke 2 barrel bc in pa I am emissions exempt. Any suggestions on a carb?

Sooo. I said some of this in your other post but I'll giv ya the run down on what I've had in my 81 and what I thought. Got the truck bone stock in 94.
webber 32/36 w/ adaptor plate- better than stock but not great. Have read other posts and it seems that you really want to make sure you get a one piece adaptor if you go that route.
Same carb on Offy dual plane manifold- Great setup. Best milage I ever got outa the truck and good throttle response. Great bottom end grunt with totally decent top end. Prool should have stuck with this setup but I wanted MORE POWER!!
dual 45mm DCOE's- Screamers. I don't think I lost anything in bottom end, throttle response is a little better and a noticable gain in top end power. I love them but for the price and fuel consumption I don't know that I'd do it again. Yeah, I would, but they aren't for everyone.
Other engine mods were going on during this process as well so these are somewhat subjective. Just my experience with these products. A webber of some sort, a cam, and a good tri-y headder are the best starting point for upgrading the 22r in my oppinion.
