It is not hard to do, and the gasket should be fine. I've always been able to re-use them no problem. A little harder to install, but a dull screw driver works for me. I've heard of a 'string trick' for reinstallation.

Correct.
And as stated, the string trick works great for re-installation.
Search for info on that.

on my extra cab I can have one of my side windows out in under a minute with a screwdriver. very helpful for when I lock my keys inside. I take the window out of the rubber, then the rubber out of the truck. Start at a corner. use glass cleaner as lube.
