Weber emulsion tubes have holes like that so it may help. Could always use a spare tube to test out and report back the results.

It is just about always possible to make any given rig give better fuel mileage.

There's no free lunch though, somethings gotta give.

Increases in fuel economy are often at the expense of power and/or drivability.

That's a stock carb, right?

He says it'll halve your fuel bill.

I'm only getting 16mpg, all stock except a way too huge exhaust a previous owner installed. (I'm getting rid of it ASAP).

He sounds a little crazy, but some of the best people are.

The next stock carb I find in the salvage yard, I'm going to take the carb or at least take out the emulsion tube and drill it out like that. Or someone here may hopefully beat me to it.

If nobody else tries it I'm going to before I install my new carb.
