Ive got quite a few wires that go no where, The truck is a work in progress and the Haynes manual has been little help. Il get a list of all of the wires currently leading no where tommoro, the two I want to know the most are:

Water Temp. Wire, it goes to the block near the fuel pump but I cant find where it goes it has a spade connector on it, the other wire in the same group is Green with a red stripe, it goes to some kind of sensor thing beside the water pump.

Black wire with a heat wrap over it, has a ring connector on the end, im thinking it goes to the alternator but my charging system is working 100%, not sure what it could be.


There are plenty more il post up tommoro, I keep blowing fuses(the 7.5amp one that powers the gauges, heater, and interior lighting) and im not sure why.. all I have done recently was put new battery terminals on, messed with the heater and gauge pod in front of the heater... it all worked fine before that.

That would definetly help, if you do please make sure they show the colors of all of the wires.

no problem, i'll be sure to show the colors. With so few of these first-gens out there I know its hard sometimes to get information.

 

Here is the 81 wiring diagram that I posted earlier that someone on another forum was able to put into a PDF format. Not the greatest quality (sorry) I will try to get it scanned at a higher quality and he has offered to clean it up. Will get that done after the weekend...

sorry to take so long but my camera is broken. Anyway, the first wire you mentioned should plug into a sensor-type thing that you can see if you look straight down behind the fuel pump. I think mine was yellow.

About the black wire with the ring connector, I think it goes to the alternator as well as another one, I have two on mine.
