alternator question

what is the difference between a alternator with l-e-f on the back plug and the one with f-e-n .
no one seems to know

1979 20r 4x4 p/u

who cares what it means..just get a newer carb and put it on there..60amp is better than 40 or 45..lol

and if i disconect the battery the truck dies is that normal?

You can get a wrench and place it on the back of the Alt. where the bearing are. If it trys to stick Alt good. If not get a new one!
