82 pickup bigger steering wheel?

My 82 pickup is a beast to park or turn tight without power steering. I wondering if anyone has put a bigger steering wheel on one to help remedy this? If so, what fits it? I'd like to try this route before spending the time and money on converting it to power steering. I'm interested to hear if anyone has done this. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Never installed a bigger steering wheel, but I put power steering on an 87 pickup last week. Easy job, well worth it.

Were you able to locate used parts or did you buy new? If new, what was your source for the parts? My chances of finding a pre-84 truck to get parts from in Michigan are very slim. I'm sure it was well worth it. I know it would be for me. 40+ years of overhead work has my shoulders about shot. I really struggle with it. I'll most likely go the power steering route. My plans are to pull the 82 in the garage this winter for bodywork, paint, and things like power steering unless this deal on a FJ40 comes through. If I get that, it will be my winter project.

I went with used parts. Paid $300 for the used parts. $17 - new idler pulley bearing, $15 - belt , $6 - res to pump hose, $24 - ATF.
I would look into what parts actually need to come from a first gen truck. I know the solid axle PS gear will be required if you're not running high steer. I think the rest of the parts could be sourced from a 85-95 22R/RE truck. Though, I do know the PS cooler from 3rd gen trucks has a different mount than the 2nd gen trucks.
I did this for my uncle who was also having shoulder issues and was pretty much unable to even drive the truck. Now he is driving it trouble free. To me, the steering feels tighter and the whole truck just feels/drives better.
