aloha YT. ok I know everyone is going to say bad alternator, but I have my parking brake light and the battery light on in the dash at the same time! changed alternator and I.C regulator! still on! any ideas on whats wrong??

And you have a new battery??

 

Have you checked the voltage at the battery or else where.

The fact the lights are on just means you have either a low charge or to high of a charge in the system.

It could now be for another problem since you really had no idea what first caused the issue.

It can be corroded connections any place in the charging system . The plug on the alternator is a good place to look.

It could be the wire coming off the B terminal of the alternator has got to the point it can no longer carry the load.

Could be a cracked or broken battery terminal or even as simple as the belt being to loose.

Could be possible you got a bad new parts out of the box** It happens way to often any more.:jessica:

Crazy that this just popped up. Having the same problem with just a charge light. I've also read about a relay for the charge light under the glove box on the passenger side as well that can go bad. Mine is reading 13.7 and charging fine though. Was wondering what to do next, thanks for those suggestions Wyoming.
