81 solid axle

ok so i know 81 was the year that they changed the bolt pattern on the spindle for the disk brakes. i don't know if mine is the earlier pattern or the later one. if it is the earlier one what do i have to do to get the later pattern? just replace the spindle or the whole knuckle?

Its to do with the wheel hub assembly, not the knuckle or spindle. On the earlier ones the rotor is held on by just the lug studs been pressed through. Ones needed for the upgraded brakes also held on by 2 bolts.

If you have 2 small indents inbetween your 6 wheel studs, you have the correct wheel hubs... kinda hard to explain i guess.

Why would you need to change it?
If you're going for new disks.. just ask for ones for an 81.
