don't reuse the stock from spring hangers, get a new set for $40 or so
7" springs up front must have some Arch to them.

Do you really want to shorten the spring length? this is going to really effect ride quality, and articulation, If your going to move the hanger, move it back and use longer springs. I think you'll be very unhappy with a spring that short with that much arch.

i only have to move 1.5 inches forward. in return what its going to allow is the spring to sit as it would normally. the hanger will flex and angle back toward the rear bumper as it should so ride quality will not be affected. the spring following contoure is a long enough spring, its because of the arch the mounting surface from eye to eye not following contoure is a little too short. it's not going to shorten wheel base. just a simple mod to get the spring to settle and flex as it should.

skyjacker makes good products, so its unfortunate they don't have the correct length of spring for the rear. i wonder if there is another application that is so close, they just make the same spring for both.
