4in lift question?????
OK here we go i have a 83 Toyota pickup with stock steering i will later down the road get cross over steering but for now i got way to good of a deal for the 4in leef springs i am getting i am just wondering what kinda problems i am going to run into for examples shocks and the stock steering will it work thanks for looking

the stock steering will work for now, the only exception is that you might need a dropped draglink. WHen I first got my '81 it had a 4" lift with the stock steering. The draglink was stock, it sucked, swapped out to the dropped draglink--adjustable and that helped.
got rid of the stock push pull and went to High steer with a 94 IFS steering box...box better steering.
SHocks--probably gonna ride rough...

You will need the dropped drag link, a dropped torque arm, an extension bracket for the rear brake proportioning valve lever, possible extended front drive shaft due to spline engagement, longer front / rear shocks, heavier front sway bar, maybe a rear sway bar and wider tires / wheels for stability.

I run 5" springs with the drop drag link, and it works well enough. I don't run any extreme trails, just street and dirt trails. I didn't have to extend the drive shaft but I retained the sway bar and that really limits my axle drop. If you don't use the torque bar and the sway bar you can gain a lot of wheel travel, but the on road handling is sacrificed.
If I had it to do over again I would have saved the $100 on the drop link and put it towards the crossover steering. That’s the next thing I plan on doing once I get back home.
Don't forget to post before and after pictures.
