Hey guys just curious if anyone knows anything this or has attempted this?

It's an 82 yota Hilux pickup.

I found a complete 3SGTE for pretty cheap ($300).. Since I'm currently pulling the 22R out to replace the back freeze plug I was thinking about maybe doing a swap if it wouldn't be too incredibly hard. The 3SGTE is pumping out 200HP stock.. so it's an attractive possibility.

I read someone else saying that it would bolt up to a W58. If thats the case it should make the swap fairly easy right? Just wiring it up and mounting should be about all there is to it correct?

 

I can't help much, but some guy around here has one in his samurai, so I'm sure it can be done. Toyota also used the B.E.A.M.S. version 3sge in their altezza (is300), not sure what transmission was used though.
