1982 22R emissions issues...Colorado...High CO
Ahhh, I had a nice thorough post typed out and it went down the tubes when I clicked post.
Here are the cliff notes:
Just bought the truck(a truck I've wanted for 20 years!), it got high CO when tested for emissions. After the 1st test I screwed in what I believe is the "idle mixture screw" back out 1.5 turns from being all the way in. After doing so CO went down(still failed) but the truck idled better, accelerated smoother and just ran better overall. Any ideas how to get the CO down below 65 GPM? Below is the 1st and 2nd test. Thanks for any and all feedback.
Mark
1st test: CO GPM 91.0198 LIMIT 65
2nd test: CO GMP 83.4014

Have you given the truck a tune up yet ? Also try seafoam you want the intake to be clean as you can get it.
Tuning the stock carb is very tough, sounds like you have it a little better.
Check for vacuum leaks
Put in some STP gas treatment and drive it hard.
Then try smog again.
