1980 Toyota Pickup 5SPD 2WD Trans

can someone please help me locate a short shifter kit for my truck? can't find anything specific for my year so I'm not sure if it is the same as any other years.....any help would be appreciated

Not for the L-series transmissions. For some reason the L-series is the bastard child of Marlin's upgrades.

There was a thread on MC's forum where Marlin said they used to make them years ago and now don't advertise it but they can still take orders, last news was they changed machinist and kept one kit for the new machinist to copy, but that was a while ago too and I don't know if they are still available. Probably more expensive than all the other ones.

Upgrade the transmission to a newer model & has a short throw available. Best of both.

At first read that sounds like a ridiculous idea but on further thought...it's actually pretty good advice

How do you get more power out of your 20R? Swap a 5z-fe into the truck!
