1979-83 Toyota A/C systems

Have been searching for parts to add a/c to my 79 long bed; especially the interior plenum box and associated parts.

Was curious to know if other Toy cars from the similar years used the same interior/engine side a/c parts.

Haven't been to any wrecking yards yet to look myself. I've only been searching online.

I was lucky enough to find an entire original kit for my '83 off of ebay. If you look at the photos of the air ducts and the evaporator (cooling unit) you'll see it's specific to our trucks. I don't think an 84-88 truck will help, let alone another model. Here's the thread with pics.

Wow! Great pics.

I was just wondering if maybe Toyota used the same plenum box/air ducts for a Celica or other Toyota models from the same era.

Thanks.

You can see the duct work is specific to these truck. They angle under the steering column. When you install a factory kit there's very little room left under the dash. The evaporator/ cooling unit fits into the heater core/ blower. These kits were designed specifically for these trucks. Don't take a chance and buy something that wont fit. good luck
