1979 4x4

Been hanging around here a bit lately and thought I should post my 1979 4x4 short bed pickup. 4 iches of lift on 31s.
Picked it up last summer and it's been a love hate relationship.
Here she was.

Recent paint job and the motor ran nice. Newer clutch too. Needed a few minor things (steering components). Etc.
Replaced the steering and was doing good.
Then Oregon rain started happening and the cab would fill up with water.
Couldn't really see anything from the outside and thought all I would need to weld shut were the screw holes. Pretty wrong on that. Pulled out the windshield and ended up needing to weld a new rim in parts.

Took forever with a Hobart Freight cheapy

Anyone wanna buy a Visor? Hate that thing.
Then I drove for another month and a ring blew in the engine.
Pulled that out.

Then cleaned it, honed and re-ringed the cylinder. There was a slight scratch vertically where the ring broke. My fingernail didn't catch on it and I'm too broke to bore it out, so I just put the bottom end back together as is then added a head with an RV cam in it. Hoping this build it will work for long enough to do a proper rebuild of one.

Going to put it in tomorrow then weld an oxygen sensor onto the exhaust to tune the carburetor. Crossing my fingers.
