1990 4X4 Shortbed Deluxe Project (Engine compromised) $1800 OBO, ** SOLD **

This is an as-is project truck (with a cracked engine head) that has had good care for the 7k miles I was able to drive it, but I'm unable to invest the time into finding the spare 22RE to get this up and running again after a recent engine overheat. Currently runs for short periods of time. Best offers considered.

Regular cab
Manual transmission (5 on floor)
Engine spec: EFI
RECENT LOVE & CARE since OCTOBER -
1. Fresh starter
2. Fresh exhaust work (new front head pipe)
3. Recent alternator belt and power steering belt
4. Recent spark plugs and distributor cap/rotor
5. Recent wiper blades
6. Fresh handbrake cable
7. Driver-side O2 sensor is new.
ACCORDING TO PREVIOUS OWNER - Timing chain has been done recently.
THE GOOD:
1. Tires only 5k miles driven (P235/75R15)
2. Transmission seems solid.
3. 4WD works well.
4. Electronics are all working, battery holds its charge, wipers/lights/lamps all good.
5. Working handbrake, horn, radio/CD, heat.
6. Relatively clean body -- just many nicks/small dents.
7. Interior is in fine shape: rug has a few stains, bench upholstery is patched (bench hardware has some rust on driver-side bolts), no cracking on dash panel, all dash panels are securely fastened (previous owner messed with the radio dim fixture, and there is some rough plastic here).
8. Truck bed is solid and has a recent coat (one "melted" spot is still water tight.)
9. Much of the body panels' usual suspect spots for rust have been headed off.
The Bad:
1. (REASON FOR SALE) -- recent diagnosis "strongly indicates" cracked head.
2. State of CT (where it's registered) doesn't issue titles for cars older than 25, so registration and bill of sale is the sole documentation. Possibly a little more hassle for you.
3. One of the frame's rear crossmembers is corroded (photo included), could be headed off with some welds/TLC. Par for the course with a truck in the northeast. The rest of the frame is pretty good--surface rust--and the underbelly's undercoat is still in good shape.

5. Bad paint job that I wasn't able to fix before listing
6. Muffler corroded and leaking exhaust, surrounding exhaust pipe is rusted.
Truck runs right now (with steam/white exhaust and a slow start), but is probably only to be trusted to run 15 minutes at a time until it can be fixed. No A/C feature, and brakes are firm/reliable but need to be given a look. The VIN will show it has had many owners and was once in a fender bender, but it has certainly been under its best care this past year; almost all of its details have been ironed out before this engine issue. Last four photos illustrate the rusty cross beam, the melted spot of the bed, and under the hood view. I can take specific photos on request/PM.
