I've got a 30-40LE. At least that's what's on the tag. It's an auto out of a 2000 4Runner. Regular J pattern transfer case without actuator.

I don't know my model numbers. Yours may even be a manual for all I know but I've never seen a double cab manual. I'm sure they are out there.

I looked it up. They are listed as two different parts but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. The truck it came from had 4.30 gears and a diff lock. Should work fine. Let me know if you want some more details.

10-4. Looks like you're going to beat me to that project. I've been holding on to it for just such an occasion but haven't been able to find a gem for sale with a bad tranny. I got it out a wrecked 4Runner with 150K miles. Engine and running gear were perfect so I'm sure the tranny is in good shape. Looks like new. All of the factory stickers are even on it and not even faded.

I guess this is what you meant when you said something about "hunting Toyotas" Tony! A 1980 pickup, 89 4Runner, and now a Tacoma.

Im passing on the 02 Tacoma for now. Its a good running truck that my buddy has, we are just a little too far off on price. Maybe he will come down, but for now, its on hold.
