A locking extension has really made life easier for me when changing out spark plugs. Oh and palm ratchets for really tight areas like rear plugs on some engines

I have seen a couple of guys say tire plugs but no portable compressors. I have used them after helping the little old lady in the supermarket parking lot with the spare tire that is just as flat as the tire with the nail in it. These are kind of like jumper cables imo, usually you are going to use them for someone else. But when you need them you have them.

I'd add a Damaged Bolt/Nug Removal kit such as the Craftsman ones like this to the List of Tools a DIY/wheeler should have
They work great, can use either a Combo Wrench/Ratchet on them and depending on the kit they are under $30.

Petzl headlamp for sure, I always carry 2.... it's amazing how little you can see in the dark!! i also love a Surefire with fresh batteries.....

tire plugs AND compressor, don't leave home without these!!

good thread, I'm taking notes, as there's a few things I still don't have....

i always have at least a gal or two of dH2O for my methanol injection/ coolant plus some extra oil.... have fluids and tools and a handful of repair parts (hoses, tape, zip-ties, belts, JB weld, etc...) and you won't get left out in the cold!

Also, I always have road flares, they are cheap and multi-purpose....

Not really for your vehicle tool bag but some tools specific to the 5vz, found this in the FSM and thought I'd post it up. It's a PDF with toyota SST's with part #'s and all. Most of these are for the shop though...

The crankshaft pulley tool would've come in handy though for me recently! hahaha... mine grenaded on the way home from work one day... my CS pulley spanner tool is sitting in my vehicle bag right now with my other tools!!

Do yourself & your family a favor....don't use cinder blocks to hold up your vehicle. I've done it countless times & so have thousands of others but if that block cracks (they can & do) you can die or be maimed. I had one bust on me; *BAM* on the ground, another few minutes & I'd have been under it. And I know how blocks are designed to hold weight & I even always used pieces of wood to even the weight distribution. Now I use jackstands, solid ones.

Best tool in the arsenal?....common sense; you live & learn....sometimes.

ill have to say one of the best things i carry is my 18 volt impact/drill combo kit with the 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" adapters for the socket sets. not enough for lug nuts but it makes short work of most other junk on the truck!

Bringing this one back...

I just read this whole thread and unless I missed it not one person mentioned TOW STRAPS.

Sorry, this came up in a search for compressor and I had to throw that in there.
