I need to replace the dashpot on my 93 4-runner, v6 but I cannot get a short or long screwdriver into the screw slot, bad angle. Any suggestions?

Also, I read somewhere that others have replaced the long slotted screw with a bolt made for an Allen wrench. Does anyone know the thread size so I can purchase one before I start into this?

Whats a "dashpot"? ....I can take apart my entire interior, trim peices and all, using my hands and a screwdriver.
