This sounds crazy, but my United Welding Services toolbox for my Yota pickup refuses to be opened. The key/locking mechanism turns without issue, but the dual handles don't seem to be going all the way up to release the lid. WD40 made no difference, nor did prying on the lid while using the handles. Any suggestions on how to open it before I crank up the chainsaw?

is it possible that it's caught on something inside? Maybe a rag?
Before you destroy the box I'd suggest just cranking on the handle as hard as possible...

 

Update:

I got the box open, using the proper combination of brute force and swearing (i.e., a crowbar). It seems the lid's latching mechanism was no longer connected to the keyed lock. I'm not sure what happened, but I think it will be repairable. Luckily, I managed to open it without bending anything. Thanks for the replies.
