And now the FUN stuff, lol
that was CRAZY, to say the least, Eric did an outstanding job driving, and before anyone says anything, yes, we know it wasnt the safest thing, having us jump on the bumper, but we had no time, no time to get anyting straped, we did what we had to, at the time. It worked out flawlesly. everyone one did a "awesome" job, my hats off to Beth, shes a trooper, did it with a smile

There was plenty of time to put it in reverse, get the back end down, relook at the line and come up with a better solution (ie what appears to be the bypass to our left)
At the TTORA Moab run in September, one of the CO guys was counterbalancing a rig standing on the slider, slipped off, banged his head BAD and got run over. Fortunately, that was a pre-Taco truggy on 42's, so the unit pressure was very low and he survived - if it had been one of our rigs, the guy probably would have died.

Nope, I have done MANY things I wish I didn't - but that was my own personal choice, not a group concensus. Out of all the people on this run, nobody said "I don't think that's safe, let's think about this a second"?
Ric - it was STUPID and AT LEAST 3 people's lives were in serious jeopardy. Endoing the truck would have been better - trucks can be replaced. Seriously.
Learn from it and move on.

Hopefully, someone will read this and see it's NOT OK or "normal" and think twice before doing that stupid stuff. Jason had to be taken off of Moab Rim on a special stretcher because they couldn't get an ambulance to him. Fortunately, it was near the bottom. Had it been farther out, he could have very well died.
I know I'm coming off as "holier than thou", but people THINK. Just like why we don't 'wheel alone, you can't do stuff like this out there. Help is TOO FAR away - simple injuries can become fatal just due to time.
Anyways, I agree, I AM raining on your parade. My point has been made - enough of that. Back to your regularly scheduled program.

As for the rest of what you said, I am not going to bother justifying myself to you.

Sweet pictures.
I have caught all kinds of hell for jumping sliders in safe situations.
The problem is that is a really dangerous situation, terribly so. Jumping the bumper was irresponsible and y'all know it. Adults can take risks and deal with consequences.
This is why I wheel with my friends and keep pictures to myself.

It is always so hard to make a judgement based on a picture - especially if you weren't "there". I have been judged based on pictures and video before, that IMO were taken out of context.
Still, that picture while "Crazy" (as in crazy cool looking) also can give the wrong impression...
I think those that were there know this. However, it might not be such a great idea to promote that picture no matter how cool it looks - for the image of off roading and safety reasons...

Having a spotter (and several people around) not tell you your tire was hitting a tree (and doing no damage to said tree) and putting three people's lives in danger certainly IS different - and not in the way you would imply.
